As we seen in the article about monitoring the mesh with a central server, Meshlium Manager System provides an easy way to monitor Meshlium’s mesh networks. Each Meshlium can configure the Manager to send custom data to brothers, and the interval data will be sent.


Configure this feature is as simple as moving to Remote Server tab. Once there two sub menus will be displayed, sub menu Send Data and Acquired Data. The Send Data sub menu configures the meshlium behaviour to send data to brothers, and which data should be sent.

Configure sending data to brothers is easiest than configuring a central sever if it is possible, just check send info to brothers in the Manager and specify an interval from 1 minute to 59 minutes. Manager System will check olsrd to discover brothers and send info to them. If a Meshlium is roaming, it will send info to brothers in range but is possible that those brothers change as long as Meshlium change it’s position, as soon as olsrd actualice routes,Manager will send system info to new brothers.


Sending data must be allowed and some info checked or Meshlium won’t send any data. Only selected information will be sent to brothers but all the information sent to brothers will be the same, it’s no possible to configure different behaviours, so if is needed to send another information, central server option can be used to send extra data to a specific node.


Acquired data sub menu configure the behaviour of Meshlium Manager System when receiving info from other Meshliums. If Manager is configured to receive data, it will  store data information. In Acquired data sub menu is possible to have an overview of all the information received from other Meshliums.

With the Meshlium Manager System API is possible parse and manage information stored from Meshliums. Manager System uses this information to display mesh info of each node and interconnection within mesh network.

But any other application in Meshlium or any Plugin for the Manager System may use this information, without having to worry about mesh topology, gathering system information and sending or receiving system information to any other Meshlium in the net. Meshlium Manager System already do it itself.
